Growing Tips for Blue Power
Blue Power is an easy strain to grow and can be brought to harvest by growers with limited cannabis cultivation experience. Blue Power marijuana plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower’s ability to control the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of California in the summertime. Blue Power produces plants with bright white pistils and resinous trichomes growing on the buds. This strain is known for being sticky and will leave resin on your fingertips if you break the buds up with your hands. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to get these plants to harvest. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables.
These plants grow medium to tall and can reach a maximum outdoor height of between 5-8 feet. Because of the height of these plants, you will need to trim and prune the very top buds so that they don’t burn under the grow lights. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit, and they are versatile enough to withstand lower temperatures at night. Humidity levels should be kept at 40-70% during the vegetative and flowering growth stages. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and temperature are maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages.
Low-stress training (LST) and High-stress training (HST) are the best training techniques for this specific strain. Both of these techniques will ensure that your yields reach their maximum output when you go to harvest your plants. The Blue Power strain requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Altering the light cycle to be a 12/12 cycle will induce the flowering stage and get you to your harvest.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Blue Power strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 50-60 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 500 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 300 grams per plant. Performing the correct training methods will get you to these desired yields and have you flush with dank buds for a long time.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the beginning of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Blue Power: Blueberry Vibes
The Blue Power terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and limonene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – A spicy and peppery terpene that can be found in cannabis plants as well as black pepper and cloves.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – The “Mother of all Terpenes”, myrcene gives cannabis its earthy flavor and aroma. Myrcene can be found in several cannabis strains.
- Limonene: Fresh Citrus – Found mostly in the rinds of citrus fruits, limonene is known for helping to decrease anxiety and can improve lung function when found in cannabis.
